Knight Frank Australia, a leading branch of the global real estate consultancy firm, recently transformed its Creek Street office in Brisbane into a hub of modern collaboration and efficiency. The move to a new space provided Knight Frank with the perfect opportunity to review and refresh its meeting room technology. Partnering with Generation-e, they created a cutting-edge workspace that sets a new standard for their offices across Australia.

A Modern Challenge: Expanding hybrid work capabilities
Refurbishing Knight Frank’s Brisbane office was a complex task that required smooth coordination between Generation-e and other partners. With a tight deadline to meet, the project needed to align perfectly with both the construction and design phases. Clear communication and transparency were key, showcasing flexibility and efficiency in the installation process. Since Knight Frank was already using Microsoft Teams Rooms, the aim was to ensure their meeting spaces stayed consistent while boosting their ability to support hybrid work throughout the organisation.

The Tech-Driven Solution
To meet these needs, Generation-e collaborated with Knight Frank to optimise their space usage by deploying a range of innovative solutions. The project involved outfitting various areas, including two small meeting rooms, one medium room, a large boardroom, two focus spaces, a large breakout area, and a lodge area. Logitech Room Scheduling Panels were installed in all meeting spaces to simplify room bookings and boost collaboration, while Verkada cameras were used to provide a secure, cloud-managed integration.

In addition, 94 Samsung ultrawide monitors were provided for workstations, greatly improving the visual experience for employees. These ultra-clear displays are ideal for real estate professionals who rely on detailed visuals, offering both clarity and ease of use.

"Generation-e didn’t just help with the setup—they offered valuable insights on how to maximise our office spaces with the best of breed tech. Their recommendations and input were invaluable in designing spaces that truly work for us."  Craig Holt, Knight Frank – Partner, Head of Information Technology

Impactful Results and Positive Feedback
The results of these upgrades were immediate and impactful. Staff quickly embraced the new technology, especially the one-touch join functionality in the meeting rooms, which simplified hybrid meetings. The breakout space was also redesigned to serve dual purposes, functioning both as a digital signage area and a large presentation space, complete with microphone support. These easy-to-use solutions not only streamlined the meeting process but also fostered a more engaging in-office collaboration environment.

Staff usage of the meeting rooms increased significantly due to their improved useability and reliability. In the past, there was little confidence in the rooms functioning properly, leading to wasted collaboration time as employees scrambled to find alternative spaces or relied on colleagues with technical know-how to connect hybrid meetings.

Knight Frank understood that success went beyond just installing the new technology—they recognised the importance of equipping staff to use the rooms effectively. Partnering with Generation-e’s change and adoption team, comprehensive user training sessions was provided to department coordinators. These coordinators then passed their knowledge on to their teams.

“Craig Holt of Knight Frank (Partner – Head of Technology) remarked that it was the first occasion the company had achieved complete positive feedback from employees about the usability and effectiveness of their meeting spaces”

A Blueprint for Future Office Upgrades
The success of the Brisbane office project now serves as a template for future upgrades across Knight Frank’s APAC offices. This new standard for meeting rooms will be replicated in future fit-outs, ensuring consistency and enhanced collaboration throughout the company.

This partnership not only improved Knight Frank’s day-to-day operations but also laid the groundwork for the future of hybrid workspaces. With simplified, tech-forward solutions, Knight Frank Australia has transformed its office into a space where employees are excited to work, collaborate, and connect.
