Generation-e and our staff are absolutely committed and focused on preserving and protecting your private information and complying with all applicable privacy legislation. This privacy statement describes how we go about collecting and managing your personal information in a confidential manner.
Our procedures for protecting your personal information do not in any way diminish our obligation of confidentiality to you, or any of our other clients, nor do these procedures take away any legal professional privilege to which you or our other customers may be entitled.
Personal data is defined as being information relating to an identifiable/identified natural person. This does not include the vast majority of information we collect on our Suppliers or Customers however the information specified below will confirm the precautions that we take in ensuring your data is kept secure.
The privacy and the security of your information are important to us. Generation-e, policy is to respect and protect the privacy of all data we process including that of our Suppliers and Customers. We will not voluntarily disclose individually identifiable information about our Suppliers or Customers to any third party without first receiving your permission unless there is a lawful or contractual requirement to do so. We will never forward your data onto third parties for direct marketing purposes.

Customer and supplier data may be collected in a variety of ways including:

Generation-e will request a limited amount of information required to fulfil the terms of the agreement or contract. This may include names of key personnel within your organisation, email and street addresses, telephone numbers, customer preference information, customer number. Please note this is not an exhaustive list.
The information that we collect may be subject to a review at the renewal, termination or amendment of any contract or terms and conditions with Generation-e. Failure to provide any data that we require to carry out the terms as listed within the contract or terms and conditions may result in termination of the contract.
Statutory retention periods relating to your data will apply in all instances. Further information relating to retention periods can be obtained from the company's Data Protection Officer.
Generation-e may store Personal information in physical and/or electronic form. Any paperwork or documentation retained by Generation-e is stored onsite in a secure location. Electronic information may be stored on databases in a secure location.
Generation-e takes several steps to protect Personal Information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification and unauthorised disclosure including through the use of technology, limiting the access by Generation-e’s staff to Personal Information and requiring Generation-e staff to follow internal policies and procedures in relation to the collection, use and storage of Personal Information.
The transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although Generation-e does our best to protect personal data, Generation-e cannot guarantee the security of data transmitted to our website, so any transmission via the web site is at an individual’s own risk.
Despite every effort to protect Personal information, there remains the possibility that a breach of Generation-e’s security could occur. In the event of loss of Personal Information will take steps to identify, secure and assess the breach and work with our customers to comply with any legal notification requirements. Information may be retained and used by Generation-e for a reasonable period, reflecting Generation-e’s need to provide new and improved services, resolve queries or issues, as well as to meet any legal or regulatory requirements. This means Generation-e may retain information after an individual ceases to use Generation-e services or interact with us in accordance with the Generation-e Data Retention Policy.
Cookies
Where we use “cookies” technology on our web site, it is done to allow us to identify your movements around our site, which provides us with needed information for improving our service to customers. We do not use cookies to determine the identity of individual users.
Use of your Data
Generation-e will only use your data to comply with the law. For example, in carrying out an agreement we have with you, fulfilling a legal obligation, because we have a legitimate business interest or where you agree to it.
Generation-e uses the personal data you have provided to have (a) designated contact(s)/ representatives) for the purposes of conducting and improving business transactions between Generation-e and your company.
In the case of non-incorporated businesses or supply / receipt of goods and/or services to or from private individuals, personal data will be stored and processed for the following:

· To undertake the necessary customer qualification checks (e.g. financial history check through a third party Credit Agency)
· To carry out the terms of the contract or terms and conditions of supply
The information that we collect will remain confidential and will be used only in connection with your relationship to Generation-e; this information will never be released or sold to any third party for commercial or prospecting purposes. Data may be shared where there is a legal or regulatory requirement to do so, or in the carrying out of the contract or terms and conditions of supply with Generation-e. Details of any sharing of data which may take place will be listed in either one of these documents.
Generation-e will take all reasonable steps to ensure your data is complete, accurate and kept up to date. However, it is also your responsibility to update the company with immediate effect should any of your data change. The consequence of not providing up to date information could result in error and inaccuracies which could be detrimental to both your company and Generation-e.
There will be some occasions where it will be necessary for Generation-e to disclose your personal information to third parties. Generation-e may be required by law to disclose your personal information, or Generation-e may be required to disclose your personal information to third parties to provide the service, including Generation-e suppliers and related companies you have requested (although this disclosure will only be made where it is necessary to fulfill the purpose for which you disclosed your personal information).
No sale of personal information
Under no circumstances will Generation-e sell or receive payment for licensing or disclosing your personal information.
Complaints
Any person who has a comment or complaint relating to the handling of their Personal Information by Generation-e can email privacy@generation-e.co.
Non-Conformity and Corrective Action
Generation-e views any breach of this policy seriously. Accordingly, failure by an employee to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action being taken against the employee, which may include restriction of access, formal warning, demotion or termination of employment.
